What Is The Meaning Of Life?

Jessa Hinton: So in your free time, I mean you travel a lot, you train, you do so many cool things, you have a pretty cool life. Dr. Frank Stile: Uh-huh. Jessa Hinton: But out of everything in your whole life, what makes you the happiest? Dr. Frank Stile: Happiness was an elusive thing for me for a long time, but I think with advancing age, I just turned 50 if you can believe that, please tell me you can't believe it. Jessa Hinton: I was gonna say, "No, you look great!" Dr. Frank Stile: You can't believe it. Yeah, well it's the little things that make me happy. Having a job and a career that's fulfilling, having fewer and good friends, spending time with family, my significant other, doing the things that I enjoy, that's what makes me happy. I try to stay in the moment, now. Even in my job with my patients, I focus on those two hours that I'm in there with them in the OR, and that's my world. Knowing that I've done the best, everyday, that I could possibly do, is what makes me happy. Putting your head down on the pillow at night and not questioning anything you've done, that's what makes me happy, and knowing that I've lived my life to the fullest, that I've left the world a little bit of a better place than it was when I got here, everyday, that I've given more than I take, that's what makes me happy. Jessa Hinton: Love it.
